What does 45 Day interest free period mean?
The payment due date on your credit card is 15 days after the statement date, the day when the statement is made.
A credit card's interest-free period is the time between the transaction date and the payment due date.
If you make a purchase on day one after receiving your statement (Statement cycle) then you have 45 days to pay the balance of that purchase without being charged interest. Interest free Credit period reduces as you transact closer to the payment due date.
It is very easy to avoid interest on your credit card if you manage the dates and payments well. All you need to do is to understand the process and be financially responsible to make payments before the due date.
